UF Transportation Institute survey on the Gainesville Autonomous Shuttle
The Gainesville Autonomous Shuttle, deployed in the summer of 2020, runs between the Downtown Parking Garage on SW 2nd St. and the Innovation Hub. Moving at a speed of 15 mph, it uses advanced sensors, computer vision and mapping to drive on its own. Researchers from the UF Transportation Institute are conducting a study to understand changes in perceptions related to autonomous shuttles. The survey will gather input from drivers of conventional vehicles, pedestrians, bicyclists and the general public.
