David W. Parrott appointed vice president for Student Affairs
In March, Dr. David W. Parrott was announced as UF’s new vice president for Student Affairs, effective June 1. Parrott comes to UF from Texas A&M University, where he served as executive associate vice president and chief of staff in the Division of Student Affairs since 2008.
In addition to his previous role, Parrott held several positions in the Texas A&M Division of Student Affairs, including interim vice president, associate vice president for student affairs and dean of student life. Before joining Texas A&M in 2001, he held positions in student affairs at Western Michigan University and Western Kentucky University.
Parrott has been a member of the graduate faculty at Texas A&M since 2006. He holds a Doctor of Education degree from the University of Louisville and master’s and bachelor’s degrees from Western Kentucky University. He will also have an academic appointment at UF as a clinical associate professor in the College of Education.
