Florida minimum wage increased Jan. 1

On Jan. 1, 2021, Florida’s minimum wage increased from $8.56 to $8.65 per hour, a 1.05% increase. UF employees — including OPS, STAS, and FWSP — previously earning an hourly rate less than $8.65 per hour automatically received the salary increase.

Florida’s Amendment 2, which was passed in November, will increase Florida’s minimum wage incrementally until it reaches $15 per hour in September 2026, with the first increase effective September 30, 2021.
