Strengthening policy development at UF

UF is committed to developing clear, effective and accessible policies that support our growing institution. With that goal in mind, UF Compliance and Ethics has expanded policy development resources and introduced dedicated support to help policy authors across all units.

Policy on policies: Your starting point

All UF-wide policies must follow the process outlined in the Policy on policies, which explains how policies are reviewed, approved and published to ensure consistency, transparency and institutional alignment. If you’re working on a new or revised policy, this should be your first stop.

New resources for policy authors

UF Compliance and Ethics recently published new guidance designed to make policy work easier and more effective:

  • UF policy drafting guide: A plain-language guide to help you write policies that are clear, consistent and aligned with UF’s formatting and editorial standards.
  • Updated templates and checklists: Save time with tools that streamline policy formatting and structure.
  • Consultation services: One-on-one or group support is available to guide you through the policy process.
