Empowering UF initiative seeks to reimagine UF’s business processes and systems
University of Florida leaders and administrators were joined by representatives from Workday and Deloitte last week for a two-day event that officially launched the Empowering UF initiative. Over the next three years, the project team will work with UF faculty and staff to modernize the university’s business processes and administrative information systems, with an emphasis on improved user experience and enhanced technical capabilities.
UF has selected Workday to replace the Oracle-based myUFL system that has been in place for more than 20 years. The new system is slated to go-live in the summer of 2027 — and while that might seem a long time from now, much work will need to be done to ensure a successful transition to the new platform and new ways of working together.
Beginning this fall and based upon work conducted over the past academic year, the Empowering UF team will begin to craft a new model for its finance and HR systems. Current data is also being analyzed to ensure it aligns with new system requirements and opportunities.
An official kickoff will be held in February of 2025 that will bring together more members of university community. To learn more in the meantime, visit the Empowering UF project website. You are also encouraged to email empowering@ufl.edu with any questions you may have.
