Increasing children’s reading skills, one free book at a time
If a child is unable to read at the expected level by third grade, there’s a good possibility they’ll struggle throughout the rest of their school years. In a recent From Florida episode, Shaunté Duggins, Ph.D., assistant director for the New Worlds Reading Initiative at the Lastinger Center for Learning, talks about the initiative and its hopes to change that trajectory — one book at a time.
