Palm Beach County, city approve plans for UF campus near downtown

Commissioners in Palm Beach County and West Palm Beach have unanimously approved preliminary plans to allow UF to open a campus near downtown. UF President Kent Fuchs praised the expansion plan, which provides an opportunity to offer graduate courses to students who may eventually start businesses and occupy high-level jobs brought to the area. Supporters have described the move as “historic” and “transformative.”
