Training firefighters to be peer fitness counselors
Firefighters put their bodies on the line every time they respond to a call. But in order to do so, they must be physically able to handle the stressors of the job. Department of Applied Physiology & Kinesiology (APK) Instructional Assistant Professor Anna Gardner, Ph.D., alongside other APK faculty, trained members from Alachua County Fire Rescue to be Peer Fitness Counselors for their fire department.
