World Cup enthusiasm sweeps through UF community

The 22nd FIFA World Cup, an international soccer tournament, kicked off Nov. 20 and runs through Dec. 18. Communities throughout the world are coming together to cheer on their favorite teams as they move along the bracket, and the UF community is no exception. On Nov. 29, faculty, staff and students came together at the Reitz Union for the USA vs. Iran match. Visit the Barstool Florida Twitter account for additional images and videos from game day.

The Bob Graham Center and the UF History Department also hosted a Soccer in Diplomacy Watch Party where faculty discussed the game’s role in history, politics, religion and more. Visit the CBS4 News website for full coverage of the event.
