July Fourth celebrations kick off tomorrow and run through July 9, featuring panels, parades, fireworks, live music, delicious food and more. In observance of the holiday, UF will close on July 3 for non-essential TEAMS employees and academic personnel.

250 Years of American Democracy: Reflecting on the Past, Shaping the Future | June 30 at 3 p.m.
Hosted by the UF Office of Public Policy Events
As the United States commemorates 250 years of democracy, this panel will explore the nation’s ongoing experiment in self-government and the principles that have shaped its development.
America 250 Year Celebration: 1776 in Florida | July 2 at 11 a.m.
Hosted by the High Springs Historical Society and the Alachua County Library District
Discover historical perspectives, regional stories and educational insights focused on Florida’s place in early American history through this informative community presentation.
Independence Day Celebration | July 3 at 5 p.m.
Hosted by the City of Williston
Join for a parade at 5 p.m. and live music and food vendors at 7 p.m., plus a Citizen of the Year presentation and parade winner recognitions. Fireworks begin at dusk.

Enjoy a family-fun day at Tuscawilla Park with food trucks, a kids’ zone, live music and games. Cool off with free admission at both Aquatic Centers with themed festivities, DJs and giveaways, plus free admission to the Discovery Center’s latest exhibit with patriotic crafts and giveaways.
