Holiday sales and discounts spread some cheer to UF faculty and staff

UF Faculty and Staff Appreciation Sale at the UF Bookstore, Nov. 16

The UF Bookstore, located at the Reitz Union, will offer discounts on Apple products (8 percent off except for accessories and Apple watches) to faculty and staff in store on Friday, Nov. 16. RecSports Cyber Monday massage discounts, Nov. 26; additional discounts now through Nov. 30

RecSports will offer discounted massage therapy sessions and packages on Nov. 26 for Cyber Monday. Additionally, Nov. 26 through Nov. 30, enjoy discounts on other premium services such as personal training, nutrition counseling, CORE outdoor rental gear, spring small group training classes and private swim lessons. 2018 Fall Plant Sale, Nov. 30–Dec. 1

Christmas cacti, succulents, tropical houseplants, camellias, plant terrariums, holiday crafts and more will be available for purchase at the 2018 Fall Plant Sale at the Greenhouse at Wilmot Gardens (1427 Gale Lemerand Drive, Gainesville) on Friday, Nov. 30, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday, Dec. 1, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Those who preordered camellias will be able to pick them up at the plant sale as well. Proceeds from the fundraiser are used to maintain the historic Wilmot Gardens and sustain the Therapeutic Horticulture Program. Admission is free, and cash, check and credit card payments will be accepted. Parking signage will be posted to direct traffic to free parking, and attendants will be available for assistance. Free Butterfly Rainforest admission and store discounts for employees, Dec. 1

The Florida Museum of Natural History is hosting its UF faculty and staff appreciation day on Saturday, Dec. 1, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. UF employees with a valid faculty/staff Gator 1 card may receive one free admission to the “Butterfly Rainforest” and “Permian Monsters” exhibits. Employees may also receive a 10-percent discount in both museum gift shops on Dec. 1 (not to be combined with other offers or discounts). Holiday Citrus Sale, Dec. 4–7

Stop by the citrus sale from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Dec. 4–7 at Fifield Hall (2550 Hull Road, Gainesville), call (352) 448-1195 or order online here. The fundraiser supports students with scholarships to attend conferences within the U.S. and an educational trip for the Citrus Club to learn about crop production in foreign countries. 22nd Annual Poinsettia Sale, Dec. 6–7

Stop by the Horticulture Greenhouses behind Fifield Hall (2550 Hull Road, Gainesville) on Thursday, Dec. 6, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Friday, Dec. 7, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. for UF’s annual poinsettia sale, the largest student-run sale in the country. This year’s sale will feature more than 4,000 plants and 150 varieties. Only cash and checks will be accepted, and signs for parking will be displayed at the event location. Harn Museum of Art discounts and Mini Art Sale, Dec. 13

At the Museum Nights event on Thursday, Dec. 13, from 6 to 9 p.m., discover unexpected finds at the “Books for Bucks” art catalogue and book sale. You can also enjoy a Mini Art Sale all evening. Local artists painted 6×6-inch canvases that will sell for $40 each, and proceeds will be split between the UF Health Shands Arts in Medicine program and the Harn. Not yet a member of the museum? It’s free to join, and members receive a 10-discount year-round in the Museum Store and 20 percent on select reward days, including Dec. 13.
