Biologists team up with park rangers in a remote butterfly paradise

With billions of insects on the planet, biologists are sorely outnumbered when trying to learn more about insect abundance and the recent worrying pattern of insect declines. To help even the playing field, the Florida Museum’s Keith Willmott, Ph.D., curator and director of the McGuire Center for Lepidoptera and Biodiversity, recently teamed up with park rangers in Ecuador to measure butterfly abundance in the Amazon rainforest.
