Markers at birth may help predict type 1 diabetes
Scientists at the University of Florida and Linköping University have identified protein markers in umbilical cord blood that are linked to a higher risk of developing type 1 diabetes later in life. The findings could pave the way for earlier, noninvasive screening, potentially informing preventive interventions or lifestyle changes.
