What is the Moon Festival? A scholar of Chinese religions explains

Considered one of most important traditional festivals in the Chinese calendar, the Mid-Autumn Festival, or Moon Festival, is celebrated this year on Sept. 21.

Mario Poceski, Ph.D., a professor of Buddhist studies and Chinese religions at the UF Religion Department, wrote an article for The Conversation in which he discussed the Mid-Autumn Festival’s history, traditions and mooncakes, the Chinese delicacies readied in anticipation of the festival.
