Assess your risk and learn more about diabetes
Did you know that one in three adults in the U.S. has pre-diabetes, and of those, more than 84% don’t know they have it?
Determine your risk factors
November is Diabetes Awareness Month, and UF-UF Health Wellness has developed a quick questionnaire to help you determine if you are at risk for prediabetes and type 2 diabetes. At the end of the assessment, you’ll be provided with a summary of your results to share with your doctor when you schedule your next visit. Additionally, you will receive a short survey in 6 months to track what changes you may have made. All of these answers will be kept confidential and secure.
Especially for children and the elderly
Do you know a young person who suffers from diabetes? The National Institute of Diabetes and Kidney and Digestive Health website shares some helpful tips for taking care of youth who have diabetes. Elder Options offers several workshops on healthy aging, including its Diabetes Education Empowerment series.
