As we transition into a new semester, it is important that we check in with ourselves to make sure our mental and emotional needs are being met. In honor of Mental Health Awareness Month, we invite you to explore available resources and upcoming events that you can take advantage of to improve your well-being.

A limited number of subscriptions to Calm Health — a mindfulness app that features evidence-based programs and resources designed to strengthen the connection between mental and physical health — are still available to UF faculty and staff, with sign-ups offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Explore some of the resources Calm Health offers:

  • Anxiety Survival Guide: This program will give you a better understanding of what anxiety is, help improve your relationship with it and empower you with coping skills.
  • Tools for Anxiety: From grounding exercises to ease overwhelm to strategies to help you reframe anxious thoughts, explore this Calm Health toolkit to strengthen your mental health.
  • Physician Burnout, Protecting Your Well-Being: This evidence-based program, designed specifically for physicians, can help avoid burnout by offering practical advice on managing the unique stresses and challenges physicians commonly face.
  • Poor sleeping habits can negatively impact your physical and mental well-being. From meditations to workshops, music and more, explore Calm Health’s featured sleep resources.

The UF Employee Assistance Program offers someone to talk to and resources to consult whenever and wherever you need them. Make an appointment with one of our on-campus counselors for help developing coping skills, self-care strategies and more. Appointments are available in-person and via telehealth.

Burnout is an ongoing state of stress that occurs in the workplace. Explore the Preventing Workplace Burnout program, consisting of two informational modules and additional resources to help you identify, prevent and mitigate burnout in the workplace.

Browse our Resilience and Emotional Well-being Toolkit for support in navigating some of life’s most common challenges. Packed with practical tip cards and additional resources curated from various UF departments, this toolkit offers guidance on managing anger, regulating emotions, coping with anxiety, practicing self-care and overcoming depression, among other essential topics.

Incorporating wellness practices into your daily routine can help you manage your stress and anxiety levels, improve your mood and energy, and reduce the likelihood of illnesses. Explore our Employee Wellness Series to help you boost your health and overall well-being.

  • Watch the Compassion and Resilience at Work, or CREW, webinars to learn how you can enhance your work-life balance, reduce your stress levels and address mental health and substance use stigma.
