Explore ways to improve your sleep habits

Did you know your professional and personal lives can suffer when you don’t get a good night’s sleep? In recognition of Sleep Awareness Week, we’ve curated resources to help you feel more well-rested throughout the day.

Calm

Join Calm on March 20 at 5 p.m. to discover how daily activities impact sleep and how you can use Calm to fall asleep faster and stay asleep longer.

Getting enough sleep but still tired? Feeling truly rested is about more than sleep — aka physical rest. Here are three additional types of rest you might be missing:

Mental rest — when was the last time you meditated?

Unplug and reset during your workday with a quick meditation from Calm. You can also browse our 10-minute Guided Meditation Sessions, created in partnership with UF and UF Health experts.

Sensory rest — how long since you last took a break from your phone or sat in actual silence?

Give your brain a break by practicing Mindful Walking with Calm. Find new places to explore on campus with UF Walking Maps

Social rest — If people drain your battery, it’s time to say no.

Set aside 10 minutes a day to focus on your emotional and mental well-being with our Take 10 Campaign. Download the Outlook Calendar invite to get started.

Read this Calm article to learn more about the different types of rest and how you can prevent burnout.

A limited number of one-year subscriptions to Calm are now available to UF faculty and staff, with sign-up offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Visit the Worklife website to claim yours today.
