Capture your summer: Share your photos for a chance to win a prize!

With summer just around the corner, we are launching our annual UF at Play photography contest.
Whether you are “staycationing” close to home or embarking on a journey across the world, we invite you to capture your summer and submit your photos for a chance to win a prize! At the end of each month, our judges will review all submissions and pick three winners.

Prizes
- Two University Press books (split into two prizes):
- Two tickets to the UF Performing Arts fall season
- Free 1-3 night gear rental package from UF’s Center for Outdoor Recreation and Education (CORE)
- An eight-inch Decorated Bundt Cake from Nothing Bundt Cakes
- Four annual passes to Amber Brooke Farms (split into two prizes)
- Two tickets and a stuffed animal from the Georgia Aquarium
- A gift bag from Rapids Water Park with four park tickets included
- A $50 gift card from Ideal Nutrition
- Two one-week passes to Swamp City Fitness (split into two prizes)
- A gift card for four players from Escapology Gainesville
- A $25 gift certificate and figurine from Pinspiration Gainesville

Prizes are subject to taxation on the winning employee’s paycheck.

Submission rules and guidelines
The contest is open to University of Florida faculty and non-student employees only. Please only submit photos that you have personally taken. Entries will be accepted from Thursday, May 1, through Sunday, Aug. 17. Employees may submit two photos per category, per month, but no more than one giveaway will be awarded per employee. All entries must be submitted using the submission form below.
The entrant accepts all responsibility for the content provided and has the rights to share the photo(s). If a person or people are pictured in the photo, the entrant is the person pictured and/or has the permission of those pictured to share this photo publicly. By submitting, the entrant gives permission for the photo to be shared on the UF at Work website and newsletter, as well as on UF at Work’s social media accounts at UF at Work’s sole discretion.
Categories
Daily Life: Your photograph captures people engaged in routine activities, spontaneous moments or gatherings that reflect our everyday experiences.
Nature: Your photograph showcases the beauty of our natural world — from stunning landscapes to beautiful plants and animals.
Travel: Whether near or far, local or international, your photograph transports us to new places, showcasing the unique cultures, landscapes and experiences encountered on your adventures.
Judging criteria
The judges will look at technical quality, composition, impact — is the image eye-catching — and whether your photo meets its respective category.
People’s Choice: The People’s Choice winner is selected based on which photograph resonates the most with the UF community. At the end of each month, the contest submissions will be uploaded to the UF at Work Facebook page, where people will like the photograph that is their top choice for the month. The photograph that has the most likes wins a prize.

We welcome and encourage you to share your photos with us through social media! Be sure to include the hashtag #UFAtPlay and tag us on X @UFatWork, Instagram @UF_AtWork and Threads @UF_AtWork.
Please note, images shared only through social media will not be considered entries to the contest. All entries must be submitted via the submission form.
Judges
Brianne (Bri) Lehan — Bri is a documentary and commercial photographer and videographer in Gainesville. She previously worked as the lead photographer/videographer in the UF Strategic Communications and Marketing department where her work was featured across the UF flagship social media accounts and other outlets.
Catherine (Cat) Wofford — Cat covers a variety of subjects as a photographer at the University of Florida Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences. In this role, she services extension offices, research centers and biological stations throughout the state of Florida and UF’s main campus College of Agricultural Life Sciences.
Richard (Rick) Bales — Rick is assistant director of creative services at the UFHR Communications and Worklife unit, where he leads the design and visual communications strategy for UFHR and the Office of the Vice President. His role includes graphic design, branding, photography, campaign development and web design.
