NIH grants high reward for high-risk health innovations

The National Institutes of Health, or NIH, granted two UF engineering professors with New Innovator Awards, securing research funding that could revolutionize invasive surgical implants and improve understanding for disease detection. This is the first time UF has won two New Innovator awards in one year, according to the NIH.
