New inclusive hiring resources provide enhanced support

UF’s Core Value of Inclusion recognizes that excellence “is only possible by including people who bring diverse backgrounds and perspectives.”

The ways we attract, select and hire diverse talent while mitigating biases are actions that speak more loudly than words, which is why UFHR is introducing new inclusive hiring resources to provide faculty and staff with support and guidance at each stage of the hiring process — from posting a vacancy through the recruitment and review phases, interviewing and screening, and final selection. A new “Inclusive Hiring at UF” training course is also available to explore these topics in more detail.


DEI Leadership Awards applications due Feb. 28

Bridging the gap between UF and Spanish-speaking communities throughout Florida

Since 2010, the population of Hispanics in Florida experienced one of the biggest population increases at over 1.4 million. This dramatic growth created the need for programs that can adequately and inclusively serve this population.

In 2017, a group of UF/IFAS Extension agents seeking to address this issue created the Coalition of Florida Extension Educators for Latino Communities, or CAFE Latino; a grassroots organization with the goal to create science-based educational materials for the benefit of Spanish-speaking communities.


CTE launches IDEA certificate for faculty and staff
