UF Engaged: Enhancing staff evaluations

Last year, UFHR undertook a comprehensive review of the UF Engaged system to improve its effectiveness. This involved gathering feedback through focus groups with staff from various university areas, individual interviews with managers and employees, and an open-response survey conducted by the UF Faculty Senate in collaboration with the President’s Office.

Based on the feedback received, UF Engaged will transition to a semi-annual process starting fall of 2024. As the system undergoes these changes,  check-ins will be paused beginning April 29. However, probationary check-ins, both at three and six months, will continue based on the employee’s hire date and may be extended as needed. Special Performance Improvement Plans will remain an option for off-cycle reviews when performance is off-track.

UF Engaged check-ins issued prior to April 29 may be completed by their respective due dates. These check-ins play a crucial role in employee performance and retention. With the launch of the updated system, supervisors will have more time to provide feedback on work performance, discuss professional development and support career growth.
