UF Engaged enhancements launch Sept. 3
Last year, UF Engaged underwent a comprehensive review to enhance evaluations for supervisors and staff. Based on the feedback gathered, UF Engaged will transition to a semi-annual process starting Sept. 3.
Check-ins will now take place in the fall, between Sept. 1 to Oct. 31, and in the spring, between March 1 to April 30. Supervisors will receive one email with the names of all the employees they manage, and a reminder email seven days before the UF Engaged due date. Employees will receive an email notification when the UF Engaged check-in period opens.
The UF Engaged form retains its core structure, allowing employees and supervisors to document the employee’s progress, strengths, events and accomplishments in the first section. The middle section on performance opportunities is now divided into two parts: one focuses on recognizing and elevating strong performance, while the other addresses areas where improvement is needed to meet expectations. This change is designed to clarify feedback and performance expectations. Additionally, the final goals section has been expanded to include opportunities for professional development and career growth.
Current supervisors are encouraged to attend an open forum where an overview of the new system will be presented, and participant questions will be answered.

The UF Engaged Toolkit was recently updated to include resources for employees and supervisors to assist with the check-in process. A revamped version of the UF Engaged for Leaders training course can also be found in the toolkit along with how-to guides and more.
UF Engaged check-ins play a crucial role in employee engagement, performance and retention. With the launch of the updated system, supervisors are expected to complete a check-in with each employee during the designated timeframe. To assist with this process, supervisors now have more time to provide feedback on work performance, set goals for the next six months, and discuss professional development and growth opportunities.
