Announcing UF’s 2019–2020 Pay Program

Last week, President Kent Fuchs shared information about a salary increase plan for UF faculty and staff as well as an increase in the university’s minimum wage.

For employees on payroll as of June 30, 2019, the university will implement a 1-percent across-the-board salary increase and an additional 2-percent salary increase pool for merit and market-based increases based on criteria established by colleges and units. Both the across-the-board increase as well as any merit or market increases will be awarded effective Oct. 1, 2019.

Additionally, the university’s minimum wage for TEAMS employees will increase from $13 to $14 per hour, also effective Oct. 1. UF has made significant progress in increasing the minimum wage over the past several years.

More details regarding the eligibility criteria and the process for implementing the salary increases will be forthcoming from UFHR. Salary increases for employees in a bargaining unit, including the minimum wage increase, are subject to union negotiation. Please note that UF is committed to working with the unions to reach agreement for covered employees.

“Providing competitive market and merit-based compensation is an important part of our strategy as we pursue UF’s goal to be one of the nation’s top-five public research universities,” said Fuchs. “UF has exceptional faculty and staff. Your commitment to excellence is deeply appreciated by our university’s leadership and our Board of Trustees.”
