Do you know your diversity liaison?
The University of Florida’s Campus Diversity Liaisons are representatives from the leadership teams of each college or business unit who are networked into the Office of the Chief Diversity Officer (CDO). A directory of the diversity liaisons may now be found on the CDO website.
“The diversity liaisons serve as internal consultants, thought leaders and influencers in all aspects of diversity, equity and inclusion,” said UF CDO Antonio Farias.
Faculty and staff are encouraged to reach out to their diversity liaison for guidance on best practices related to inclusion in the workplace.
“As subject matter experts, they assist their respective colleges and business units in managing the change process, deepening their cultural competencies and enacting the effective practices necessary to become One UF, where all faculty, staff and students are treated with respect, encouraged to thrive and supported along the journey,” Farias added.
While visiting the CDO website, be sure to check out the latest episode of “Level Up on Presence and Belonging,” a weekly podcast in which Farias interviews a member of the university community to hear their story of belonging and to learn about their work at UF.
