Entomology Professor Jamie Ellis urges practice of “exceptionalism”

Jamie Ellis, Ph.D., Gahan Endowed Professor of Entomology in the Entomology and Nematology Department at UF/IFAS and an internationally recognized expert on honey bee biology and management, was asked by President Fuchs to deliver UF’s Summer 2021 commencement speech. In his speech, Ellis encouraged students to practice exceptionalism in their lives.

“Exceptional individuals do not cut corners. They embrace opportunities for self-improvement . . . Exceptionalism is giving your best effort in everything you do,” said Ellis.
