Discover support for your well-being this semester

The fall semester is an exciting time filled with new routines as well as stressors that can affect our health and overall well-being. We hope you’ll take time to explore some of the UF-sponsored wellness programs designed to support your well-being throughout this semester and beyond.

Faculty and staff fitness classes

Need to de-stress? Join Kim Holton, Ph.D., instructional assistant professor for the Department of Health Education and Behavior, every Tuesday from 12:15 to 1 p.m. for a free lunchtime yoga class in the Ustler Hall Atrium.

Looking to get more active? Try Zumba – a high-energy class combining cardio, muscle conditioning, balance and flexibility – on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:30 to 6:15 p.m. with Louise at the UF Health Professional Park building.

If you can’t make it to campus, there are a variety of live-streamed and on-demand classes you can follow along — from stretching to cardio, yoga, dance and more.

Fitness classes are open to faculty and staff of all experience and fitness levels. No registration is necessary.

Stay tuned for campus conditioning and spinning classes!

Calm Pathway: Building a self-care routine

We have partnered with Calm to host a three-week program beginning Sept. 18 designed to establish a flexible and supportive self-care routine. The program will encourage users to implement healthy habits throughout their day to foster a balanced and sustainable lifestyle.

Sign-up for Calm by Sept. 7 and enable push notifications by the start date to join!

Find the support you need when you need it

The UF Employee Assistance Program offers free counseling sessions to UF employees and their household members. In addition, this service offers legal and financial guidance as well as work-life support including childcare and eldercare referrals, assistance with planning events, locating help for household moves and more.

We are also pleased to announce that two counselors will be available on campus beginning this fall semester — stay tuned for more information.

Discover the benefits of mindfulness in the workplace

Two new training courses available this fall explore the application of mindfulness practice to the workplace setting:

  • Introduction to Mindfulness explores the distinction between mindfulness and meditation, the neuroscience behind mindfulness, the benefits of practicing mindfulness in the workplace and how you can incorporate micro-practices into your day.
  • The Mindful Leader explores how the mind shapes our actions and influences an organization’s overall effectiveness. Participants will gain practical knowledge and tools to help manage everyday stress and lead with authenticity and compassion.

Explore on-demand wellness content

In addition to the in-person and virtual programs offered to faculty and staff, a variety of on-demand resources can be found on the Worklife at UF website — available anytime, anywhere.

Listen to prerecorded guided meditation sessions or explore the on-demand webinars available in our Financial Literacy Workshop Series. Additionally, the Well at UF podcast features wellness content that aims to provide you with resources to help improve your health and well-being.
