Have you reviewed your 2022 paycheck statements?

While it’s always a good idea to look over your paycheck statement from time to time, it’s especially important at the beginning of the calendar year. By doing so, you can verify your benefits deductions and leave accruals are accurate and up-to-date.

Benefits deductions

If you made any changes during Open Enrollment, the payroll deductions for some took effect in December, while others should be reflected beginning with your Jan. 14 paycheck. Premium deductions and coverage for new life and long-term disability plan elections requiring a medical application begin once approved by the insurer. If you have applied and do not receive a response, it is a good idea to follow up periodically with the insurer on the status of your medical application.

Vacation leave conversion paused

Recognizing the challenges the pandemic has created for faculty and staff and in light of the extra hours many have worked over the past year, UF faculty and staff vacation leave hours exceeding the maximum typically allowed in a calendar year will not convert to sick leave this year.
