Verify your 2025 benefits elections

Have you verified your benefits deductions? Any changes you made during the annual open enrollment period will be reflected on your December and January paychecks. Deductions for the 2025 calendar year begin with your Dec. 13 paycheck.

Changes made to State of Florida-sponsored plans:

If you made changes to your State of Florida-sponsored plans during this year’s open enrollment period, you can view your confirmation statement online by logging in to People First and selecting the “Insurance Benefits” box, then selecting “Confirmation Statement.”

Premiums for State of Florida-sponsored plans are deducted from your paycheck one month in advance, except for flex spending and health savings accounts. Your 2025 premiums — including health, basic and optional life, dental, vision, etc. — will be reflected on your Dec. 13 and Dec. 27 paychecks for January coverage.

Changes made to UF-sponsored plans:

The premiums for UF-sponsored plans, which include UFSelect and GatorCare, are not collected in advance, but are collected within the month of coverage. Therefore, deductions for 2025 coverage for these plans will begin on the Jan. 10 and Jan. 24 paychecks. However, employees currently enrolled in UFSelect life insurance may see a slight increase in their deductions in the December paychecks due to an increase in age since the rates are aged based.

Next steps:

Be sure to review all your deductions carefully. If you have switched between a UF-sponsored plan and a State of Florida-sponsored plan, be especially sure to look for any deductions that may represent duplicate enrollments.
