Observed Sept. 15 to Oct. 15, Hispanic Heritage Month, or HHM, recognizes the contributions and influence of Hispanic Americans to the history, culture and achievements of the United States. Explore upcoming events and articles celebrating HHM at UF.

Upcoming events:

Gainesville Latino Film Festival: Hosted by the Gainesville Latina Women’s League and co-sponsored by various UF departments and Gainesville businesses, the 8-day festival highlighting Latin American culture through film, music and dance.

Artist Talk – Esterio Segura: Visit the Harn Museum of Art on Sept 26 at 6 p.m. to hear Segura discuss his work Hybrid of a Chrysler (versión con pasaporte) (version with passport), on display as part of the exhibition Under the Spell of the Palm Tree: The Rice Collection of Cuban Art.

Internationalizing the Curriculum: the Many Faces of Democracy: On Sept. 30, join the UF Centers for European Studies, Latin American Studies and African Studies, and the University of Texas at Austin Hemispheres National Resource Centers for current research presentations on The Many Faces of Democracy. Area studies experts will represent what democracy looks like in Western Europe, Latin America, Africa, and Russia/Eastern Europe/Eurasia.

Helping You Reach Your Family Goals: This special-edition HHM webinar hosted by Fidelity Investments will take place on Oct. 5 at 2 p.m. and will cover topics such as when to use cash and how to keep your money accessible while investing.

2023 World Music Fest: Taking place Oct. 13 at 7 p.m. in the Bo Diddley Downtown Plaza, this festival will feature five diverse musical ensembles with students, faculty artists, and music professionals.
